Our Overseas Business Team visited the Indonesia Country Office of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and the Indonesian Agency for Primary and Secondary Education Policy (BKPDM) to explore opportunities for collaboration in the field of school meal programs in Indonesia.
During our meeting with the WFP Indonesia Country Office, we discussed potential collaboration under the framework of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE). We subsequently exchanged views with BKPDM on Japan’s school meal system and our initiatives in the field.
During the discussions with BKPDM, we received a proposal for a specific joint research project. In addition, an official minutes was issued to facilitate continued discussions and follow-up, marking the beginning of concrete policy dialogue on school meal policies in Indonesia.
Going forward, we will continue to strengthen our collaboration with BKPDM and other relevant organizations through the GPE framework. By leveraging the knowledge and expertise we have cultivated through Japan’s schoolmeal system, we aim to contribute to the further development of school meal programs in Indonesia.
