The report on the school meal survey conducted by Toyo Foods in Indonesia in 2025 has been published on the website of the Nutrition Japan Public Private Platform (NJPPP), which supported the project.
The survey was conducted in Makassar and Bogor. While both children and their parents generally expressed positive opinions about the school meal program, the overall meal consumption rate was relatively low. In particular, vegetable consumption rates were low in both cities, although some regional differences were observed.
These findings suggest that, in addition to providing meals that meet nutritional standards, initiatives to encourage healthy eating behaviors among children are also necessary.
The survey also identified several operational challenges at local school meal centers, including heavy workloads for staff, budget constraints, and insufficient communication with schools.
The report also presents recommendations for addressing these challenges. The full report is available at the link below.
